The Practice remains committed to providing expert, cost-effective solutions for those involved in the care, restoration, purchase and development of historic buildings and structures. It aims always to bring a mix of expertise, enthusiasm and pragmatism to the inspection, design and on-site elements of this process.
RICS Accreditation as a Building Conservation Surveyor is important to the Practice as it helps provide our clients with assurance that their building project is being managed by those with appropriate knowledge. We are currently working on a number of schemes of conservation and restoration to 17th, 18th and 19th century buildings and our work has recently been recognized by both the RICS and Georgian Group in their 2009/2010 architectural awards.
The challenges of amalgamating building conservation and energy efficiency continue to be grasped by the Practice by employing innovative and ecological solutions. Recent conservation schemes have included sustainable technologies coupled with ‘green’ insulation products and energy trade-offs.
The Practice has provided third parties with conservation advice and prepared Heritage Impact and Conservation Statements to assist those charged with the complex task of developing an historic site.
Central to everything we do is the vision of a multi-disciplinary approach to building conservation. We are currently working with owners of historic houses, Trusts, Church committees and other professionals to deliver this vision.
